Season starts with a Jumble

Some 22 members braved the chilly afternoon, where warm clothing was a priority, to enjoy their first outdoor bowl of the season. Jan led the bowlers in some stretching ahead of the start. Teams were chosen at random and members played five ends before redrawing teams . This continued for two matches with a welcome hot cup of tea and cake before the final matches. After 3 matches - 15 ends - Tom emerged as the best scoring man with 20 points but the winner of the Pennine Plate with 23 points was Rosie.

Many thanks to Edwin who masterminded the event and the members who came to watch and help out in the kitchen. We hope to enjoy a further Jumble on Easter Monday and trust that it will be a little warmer!
