On an afternoon which saw the matches played under a blue sky and in the sun Vets 1, at present top of division 2, faced Seamer - mid table in division 1 - in the Cup, whilst on rinks 1-3, Vets 2 currently near the bottom of Division 2 took on Division 1 leaders Thornton Le Dale in the Plate.

At the halfway stage, Vets 1 were down 19 to 29 whereas Vets 2 were up 24-22. With three ends to go the margin in Vets 1 had increased to 15 and Vets 2 had slipped to an 8 shot deficit.

The last 3 ends saw Vets 1 win on 1 rink (skip Mike G, Pauline C & Pam M) 17-13 but overall the spoils went to Seamer by 53 to 36. For Vets 2 the result went to the last end with rink 3 (skip Roger P, Bob G & Liz F) wining 20-9, rink 1 reversed that going down 20-9 whilst going into the last end rink 2 sat at 14 apiece. In the end Thornton Le Dale prevailed by 3 shots - 46 to 43.

Now to continue the league fixtures - hopefully the weather will be kind and allow the backlog of fixtures to be played.
