Friendly v Warwickshire President’s Ladies

With the threat of a sea fret not far away, 4 rinks of 4 featuring two rinks from York & Copmanthorpe together with two rinks from the Club enjoyed a fixture against the touring Warwickshire Ladies team who are playing matches in Scarborough, Whitby, Thornton Dale and Pickering.

Despite the overcast and somewhat chilly afternoon the teams set about the 18 ends with a great deal of enthusiasm and no little skill. After 4 ends, the visitors opened up a lead on two rinks with the other two being close. At the halfway stage the visitors had opened up a lead on all four rinks. They sustained this over the remaining ends, running out winners.

Tea, cakes and speeches followed and all agreed it had been a very enjoyable afternoon.
