Vets Cup & Plate Finals

South Cliff were delighted to have been asked to host the Vets Cup and Plate matches. On an afternoon which thankfully stayed dry, Thornton Le Dale played Sleights in the Cup final. Would Thornton Le Dale retain the Cup? On the other three rinks Flamborough challenged Filey - South Dene in the Plate section.

Watched by some very enthusiastic supporters, the teams battled though 18 ends. There was some excellent bowling and in the Cup Thornton Le Dale were in superb form winning on all three rinks, scoring in excess of 20 shots on each rink. The aggregate score - which decided the outcome was 66 - 32 to Thornton Le Dale. In the Plate competition Flamborough also took all three rinks winning by 50 shots to 40.

This was an excellent afternoon of bowling and following the matches the trophies were presented to the winning sides by Club Captain Derek and ladies Captain Pauline V.
