Preparing for next season

Playing finished last Saturday, however scarifying the green for next season started on Monday morning and was completed on Wednesday. Monday morning saw around 10 members set to in collecting the scarified material produced in scarify 1 and 2 (NW-SE & N-S). Lawnmowers, and rakes were used and the debris ferried to the skip and bins. Over the next two days a further 2 scarifies - SW-NE & E-W direction took place - interrupted by a significant downpour on Tuesday, necessitating a shift on Wednesday which was undertaken by 4 members working with Bernard .

Tea, butties - bacon, ham and cheese kept everyone fed and watered - many thanks to Mary. Several other essential jobs will be undertaken in the next few weeks in order to produce yet another excellent green. The green has been positively commented on by visiting players during the past season.
