After an unbeaten 8 fixtures (6 wins and two draws including 4 maximum scores of 8-0) the Open League Team were defeated by Cayton by 6-2. However they were still top of the League by over 10 points. The return fixture against Thornton Dale was a chance to return to normal service. They had beaten them 8-0 away and the members who were spectating were anticipating a return to form.

Rink 1 was down after three ends began to get the measure of the Green and after 13 ends were 17-8 up. however they were pinned back by their opponents who chipped away at the lead to be two shots behind after 16 ends. Thankfully the team won the remaining ends to run out winners 21-15

Rink 2 set the standard early on and scored well, being 14-3 up after 8 ends. The remaining 10 ends saw South Cliff score 7 to 6. the final score being 21-9.

Rink 3, down 4-0 after two recovered and moved into a very strong position after 9 ends leading by12 points. The remaining ends produced 5 points each with South Cliff running out winners 21-11.

So three rinks won and the aggregate score of 63 - 35 giving South Cliff a further maximum of 8 points . The team face the same opponents in the forthcoming Open League Cup.
