This is a very important day in our calendar as we launch our consultation with local residents regarding building a new clubhouse and try and encourage a few more people to try the game of bowls.

Members will be on hand to talk about the Club and questionnaires will be available for local residents to offer their views. They can be filled in on the day or taken away, completed and returned.

Questionnaires are also available to download from the website - Forthcoming Events page. They can be downloaded, filled in and returned via our email - [email protected]

In the afternoon we are running a fun bowling session for members. At 2pm we will play a game of bowls cricket. Players are placed in teams and each player has four woods. One team take turns in bowling at a sheet pegged to the ground. The sheet is marked with numbers and if you land on the sheet you score runs for your team. The other team bowls in the other direction on the next rink and bowl at a set of wickets. If they hit the wicket, they've got a player out.

After a cup of tea and cake we will have a game of bowling golf. The idea is that you aim to hit the jack with your wood. You bowl a wood towards the jack, you then bowl your next wood from where the previous wood finished until you manage to hit the jack.
